Car manufacturers have different ways of numbering and naming their products. Some use only numbers or letters, while others use a mix of the two - just like Mercedes Benz. For their model, or in other words, "class," they use letters, and for the engine's displacement, numbers. While this can get confusing, especially with the letter part, we will give you a short and simple explanation of the Mercedes Benz class range.
A-Class
In this model group, two options can be found: a sedan and a hatchback. Both come in different engine and trim options, from normal 2.0L ones to AMG special editions. They offer a comfortable driving experience with enough space for everyday activities. If you are looking for an upgrade, the CLA is similar but offers more extras and options; it's also a little bit more expensive.
B-Class
The B class is the perfect option between a car and an SUV. Storage space is plenty and quite spacious. Engine options start with an inline-4 1.5L and go up to a 2.0L, which is plenty for a family-oriented car. Mercedes' approach is straightforward and efficient, with no special or AMG models.
C-Class
The C-Class is one of the most famous lineups of Mercedes. It comes in three variants: sedan, wagon, and coupe. Throughout the years, special editions such as BlueTec, AMG, and others have been available. Engine options go from a 1.8L to an AMG 4.0L - 500 HP.
E-Class
E-Class vehicles are very similar to the C-Class but differ in a couple of ways. To put it simply, it's one up on its little brother, the C-Class. And just like any other Mercedes Benz, it comes in a variety of trim levels and engine options from which to choose.
GL & G-Class
Probably the most popular models are the GL ones, being - GLA, GLc, and G-Class. They are big and powerful SUVs, with enough space for you and your family. While they are luxurious and comfortable, AMG and Maybach have made even better versions. An exotic edition is Brabus Models, an extreme tuning house specializing in power and performance.
S-Class
Another very popular vehicle line is the S-Class. They are oriented toward the passengers in the backseat, offering them luxury and comfort all around. Despite that, they still offer a lot of power and road safety features, ensuring everyone on board arrives at the destination securely.
