Audi Oil Filter Service:
Audi oil and filter service? If you have questions, German Car Depot has the answers
The Audi “Service Due” indicator light:
So how will you know when you need to come in for your next maintenance? Your Audi will be due for service every 10,000 miles or one year from your last maintenance, whichever comes first. An indicator light on your dashboard, in the shape of a wrench, will activate when you are in overdue for your next oil and filter service.
While Audi tells it’s customers that oil change intervals are every 10,000 miles, you will have problems, in the long run, depending on the type of driving.
The old standard of changing your oil every three months or every 5000–7500 miles is preferred oil and filter service for many high-end cars owners and as the owner of an Audi, you want to keep your car running at peak performance.
By choosing German Car Depot, a Bosch Certified, an independent garage you know our BOSCH certified technicians perform work of the highest quality and unlike a large dealership, we can pass the savings on to you.
The “Oil Minimum” indicator light:
Another indicator that you may soon be due for service is the oil minimum light. This light resembles an “oil can” with a drop of oil on the spout and will display the letters “MIN”. This light indicates that your vehicle is running low on oil.
What kind of oil should you put in your Audi?
Here at GCD, for all of our oil filter service we use German factory 5W40 full synthetic motor oil. We also caution you from overfilling your oil, to prevent engine oil getting into your intake track and causing carbon buildup issues. Too much oil can actually be as big of an issue as not enough oil and can cause engine failure.
Why is my Audi using a lot of oil?
Due to engine break in periods and a variety of other factors, your Audi’s oil consumption may vary. Here are some contributing factors:
- Audi has stated that engine oil use may in many engines is normal.
- Oil use can vary depending on many factors short trips under 20 miles can cause oil quality to worsen sooner than longer trips.,.
- Engine wear can cause oil consumption to increase. Routine maintenance and replacing necessary engine components will help prevent excessive wear.
If you feel like your Audi is using excessive amounts of oil, please mention this to when you call GCD for your Audi oil and filter service.
